Governor’s Island trip – Friday, June 11

Come to the free Figment NYC art festival on Governor’s Island!  It’s Friday through Sunday, but I want to get together a group to go from around noon to 3 on Friday.  There’s a free ferry running from Atlantic Ave and the East River (i.e. the end closest to Manhattan, above Cobble Hill) to Governor’s Island.  It runs continuously, and it takes only about 5 minutes.  E-mail me in advance so I know to wait for you or give you my number if you’re joining us late.  Bring a picnic lunch, including plenty to drink in metal or plastic bottles.

Babes and Beers

Fridays @ 4:00 PM.  Babes and Beers has been meeting at two locations (see Calendar for details):  Soda Bar in Prospect Heights and Sheep Station in Park Slope.   Both events theoretically start at 4:00.  At Soda Bar, you have to get there pretty much at 4 to snag seating, and at Sheep Station, people roll in more like 4:15, order a beer, and head to the back room which stays pretty much empty.

Don’t miss the Calendar!

The Calendar is really the go-to place for upcoming events.  It shows recurring events (like yoga classes and support groups) as well as first-time and one-time events.  Also, you can add information about a new event in the comments (or e-mail me with the info) and I’ll transfer it to the Calendar and the front page’s announcements.  Hopefully, we’ll soon have enough going on through this page that there’ll never be a day when you’re stuck inside with nothing to do!

Notify us of an event - There are two ways to do this:  (1) E-mail me with all the information about an event that you’d like added to the calendar and/or to Announcements, from a walk in the park next week to  a weekly class that you’d like advertised; or (2) Leave a comment about an event in the comments on the Calendar page.
